First Class Blogger Award (Who Knew Non-Nigerians Read This Blog?)

Y'all are going to think I'm vain now that I have a Blog Badges & Awards page, but the reason I set up the page is so that I can avoid crowding my sidebar with all this "stuff".

I finally decided to do this because over the weekend the folks over at First Class Blogger Award sent me an email to tell me that Ego Du Jour was named a First Class Blog for the week of January 23rd!

I thought somebody had nominated me or something? Turns out there was no nomination and somehow these folks found my tiny corner of the blog universe and decided they like my blog. Here's what the awards are about straight from their web page:

The First Class Blogger Awards was founded in 2010. Our aim is to recognize mainstream bloggers who have great blogs and for what ever reason are largely unknown except by their readers.
Sites are chosen by our four committee members. There is no special criteria to meet in order to be considered for the award. Our members adhere to the old saying, “I don’t know art, but I know what I like.” Well, we aren’t experts in any field but we do know great blogs when we see them.  We know what we like.
Ego Du Jour is "largely unknown" except by all you awesome readers out there. It seems like award season on Blogsville since the 2011 Nigerian Blog Awards are gearing up for this year! (I shall soon begin the process of pandering for votes so you can look forward to that)

Here's the blurb they wrote on Ego Du Jour:
EDJ is a Nigerian blogger who has been blogging since 2009. She also blogs anonymously which frees her to post on any subject without her friends and family prejudging her based on what they already know of her. Ego Du Jour has no particular theme. It’s a personal blog free to tackle any topic. The name of the site is a mix of Latin and French that means Me of the Day.
So, thanks very much to the First Class Blogger Award committee. I'm glad they like the blog enough to name it to their weekly list! Awards always make this "blogging thing" worthwhile and encourage me to keep up with it!

Hope y'all keep reading!
