A Real Blog Post. Sorta

Hopefully you guys like the new look. Its silly but I myself have trouble remembering this is my blog after all the changes. Go figure. I decided it was time for a change, new year and all, so here we are!

As I write this it looks like I'm heading for my 3rd straight shortened work week thanks to all the snow we've been having in NY. The snow from the Christmas weekend storm still hasn't melted yet and we have just been getting more snow since then.

In other news, this weekend I plan to hang out with Mogaji (at least on Saturday) and watch this Nigerian movie:

I believe I mentioned last year--after watching Silent Scandals--that Genevieve and Majid are my new favorite pairing. I'm glad they reunited for another movie. I just look forward to hearing Majid's high pitched voice whenever he is trying to "act" indignant. Of course there is also the bad grammar that is rampant amongst supporting cast members and the hilarious male characters trying to be sexy. Ahh fun.

Aside from that I have no other plans this weekend.
There is something I brought up in a previous post that I think is worth revisiting. In the real world how do Yo-Pros (young professionals) make friends? Is there a friendship match service for Yo-Pros? I don't mean one of those "networking" events for people to schmooze each other just to find a job. I mean actual friends. Perhaps there is a start-up idea to be had there. Nobody steal my idea!

After college everybody is off doing their own thing, and so many people are scattered around the country. Whats a gal to do stuck in the 'burbs??

By the way, I am seriously making plans for my birthday this year. Maybe I should have a party? Its on a Saturday so technically the festivities could start on Friday evening and run for most of the weekend. I don't want one of those naija club parties sponsored by God knows whom, just a way and place to hang out with my friends (and their friends) and do fun stuff for a weekend. Knowing all this you better hurry up and become my friend before its my birthday! Maybe I'll plan a Why Did I Get Married style getaway minus the crazy couple drama? Who knows.

So, how is 2011 going for everyone? I am optimistic about the year. Are things starting off well? I really can't complain. Actually I could, but I am choosing not to.
