Good news, I'm leaving my job at the end of the month.
Bad news, I haven't found a replacement job.
Is this risky? Clearly!
Am I worried. Not yet...I probably should be though!
In other news, this past weekend was my birthday weekend. I didn't do anything to celebrate really. I stayed home, watched a whole lot of TV, did some homework, etc. It was very uneventful.
Because of my relative joblessness over the weekend, I went on a Top 40 music scavenger hunt.
I usually find new music by checking US charts and UK charts. I've found some "new" music/artists on the UK charts months before they hit the US. Some of these songs are not even "new", they simply haven't made it "big" over here (and some never will). This two country approach is how I discovered artists like Tinie Tempah, LaRoux, Jessie J, etc before they hit the US. So please enjoy my picks from the scavenger hunt.
Cee Lo Green ft. Wiz Khalifa--"Bright Lights Bigger City"
Can you tell which MJ song they sampled for the background music?
I don't know who Chipmunk is? But I guess he and Tinie Tempah will be vying to become America's Next Favorite UK rapper if this song takes off.
Mann ft. 50 Cent--"Buzzin (Remix)"
The video is so stereotypical! But I like the song so I ignore it. Also, this sort of reminds me of early 2000's hip-hop music.
Chris Brown & Benny Benassi--"Beautiful People"
Definitely not a new song, but its gradually growing over here in the US. I'm sure this will be on radio stations everywhere by June. Like "Forever", you'll be unable to escape it.
In personal news, my younger sister is graduating from college this weekend and it seems like only yesterday she started her freshman year and I was giving her advice on how to avoid "boy drama". Second, I'm attending a wedding during Memorial Day weekend which should be fun. Also during Memorial Day weekend, since most of my friends will be in the NY area we're planning to do some "stuff" on Sunday.
P.S: Random blogger shout out to both LucidLilith and Taynement on finishing their MBA programs this month. Also, it would seem that LucidLilith has even more news to share beyond her grad school graduation. If you're a fan of hers (and you should be) you should visit her blog and check out her Warrior Dash 2011 post. I wish both bloggers all the best.
