I'm not sure how familiar the people in this video are with Nigeria but hey, cute effort.
Are they being sarcastic though? I still can't figure it out. If they are being "sincere" that they think Nigeria is better than (at least) Russia, then this is clear evidence that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Especially considering that many Nigerians would rather be anywhere but Nigeria, as shown by the number of expatriate Nigerians.
I'm always wary of people who love Nigeria and yet have never been to the place.
I'm glad they like Nigeria and all, but it is 2011 over there as well. Nigerians aren't wearing loincloths and living in tree houses. Well, many of them aren't. Perhaps the song should have specified "village Nigerian" as the type of Nigerian they would like to be.
At least they didn't talk about 419.
I also want to know WHY they chose Nigeria. If you know these people, tell them I'm able to offer Nigerian passports if they are able to offer answers!
Also, don't forget to nominate Ego Du Jour for the 2011 Nigerian Blog Awards. If y'all could nominate the blog for categories 2, 6, 7, 16, and 29. I'd be very glad! Nominations close June 17th (this Friday!).
After you've submitted nominations, you will get a confirmation link sent to your inbox that you will need to click in order for your vote to count! Make sure you click the link sent to your email otherwise your nomination isn't counted.
P.S: I've been spending a lot of time at home lately (for obvious reasons) and I had seriously forgotten how boring my house can be on weekday afternoons. I'm sure I'll be blogging more frequently now.
Until next time.
Update: Turns out they did this as part of a homework assignment for Politics class. Mystery solved!
