Summer Plans

Mine are nothing spectacular. Right now most of my time is spent at home. When I'm not banging my head against the wall that is my accounting class, I'm banging my head against the wall that is the job market. In between all that, I find time to watch as many TV shows and movies as humanly possible without neglecting the two previously mentioned responsibilities.

I've been asked multiple times how my job search is going. The answer is, its going. Interviews have come, gone, and are coming. I'm still not worried about my "situation" yet.

School wise, I'm starting the second half of Accounting this week. So, look out for more of my frustrated tweets. You should follow me if you aren't already.

The only news I have is that I will be hosting "EDJ's BFF auditions" soon. This is because, unfortunately for me but fortunately for her, Mogaji will be moving at the end of summer. Moving as in to another country by the way. I now have no idea who I will call to complain about Alpa Chino because the time difference will make that hard to do.
Its just unfortunate because almost everyone that has heard the news about her move has had the exact same reaction. Their first thought is, wow that's great for Mogaji. Their next thought, EDJ won't have any friends left in New York now. My sister doesn't count.

I guess I will just have to promote someone to Mogaji status.

So, if interested, please leave a comment with your BFF credentials.

This is always how I lose friends, either they move or I move. I have former close friends scattered on literally every continent that I ended up growing apart from after they or I moved. Such a pity.

Either way, having "international connections" makes it hard to keep BFFs. So yeah, all applicants are welcome. Male or female by the way, but I prefer female because I don't want to complicate my life. My last male BFF won't leave me alone and he insists on calling me his girlfriend. (I'm talking about Alpa Chino by the way).

My plan for the summer is to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid developing a tan. Yes, I tan. I really hope to hang out with Mogaji a lot more often since it will be her last summer here, but aside from that nothing else. I was going to go to Orlando for the Nigerian Reunion but the more I thought about it, the less appealing that idea became. So, I won't be going.

If you were planning to stalk me there, I'm sorry to disappoint you.

Before I sign off, the Nigerian Blog Awards nominations have closed. If you submitted nominations, you just need to make sure you click the confirmation link to confirm your submissions. Nominees were to be announced yesterday (Monday) but the announcements have been delayed until next week Monday 9the 27th). I didn't campaign as hard on this blog as I did last year but I'm hoping some of you saw it fit to nominate me for something. Now that you know how boring my summer will be, its the least you can do to cheer me up a bit!

P.S: I changed the commenting system on the blog recently. Unfortunately many of my older comments have not transferred over yet. I'm still trying to figure out how best to accomplish this. I think Disqus is much better than what I was using before (Haloscan/Js-Kit).  Hope you like it.

Summer TV is not the best, but we're patching along. Hope your classes and job hunt keep getting better. Too bad about Mogaji, all the best to her though.

ps, I think Disqus is good. I considered it for a while.

Well the job market is getting better so hopefully you find something soon, it can be a very tiring process.

Lol @ "amazing credentials". Well you can still submit yourself for international BFF consideration.

I have barely any friends left in Dallas, my friends have all grown up and moved so I have a lot of electronic friendships and I do a lot of stuff alone now. Good luck on the job search, I remember that question, i was never quite sure how to respond. I mean its going, if it was going great I'd be employed...

Aww.  U're losing your bestie?  that is so sad....keep ya head in the game.  An opportunity will soon come up for you jobwise.  And school will eventually end.

since you are scrapping your reunion plans in Orlando, come to Umu Igbo Unite in DC.
Nothing like a BFF in the same city as you, I have 2 other BFFs in two different countries...it's not easy.
