But, the surprise turned to shock for many when they found out she was engaged to a "millionaire". Tells you a lot about Nigerian mentality, doesn't it?
The moral of this story, doing everything your mother told you not to do may be the best way to snag a rich husband, especially in Nigeria. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating.
This story has touched me profoundly mostly because I cannot believe that a respectable person, much less the president of a "respectable" yoruba organization known as the "Agbekoya Movement" is going to MARRY AFROCANDY.
Maybe I am just jealous...no, that's not it.
To be fair, every woman should find a man that makes her happy. Second husband notwithstanding, I hope that he makes her very happy.
Part of me actually wonders if I should feel sorry for her instead of defaulting to the general consensus of "How on earth did that happen".
I know many Nigerian parents still wonder what "yoo-tube" is, but I imagine that their daughters and sons will only be too happy to share AfroCandy's "musical stylings" with their parents. Aren't Ibadan matrons notoriously snobby? Not only is she Igbo, she is also a woman of "questionable" morals. I don't see it being very easy for her to make friends in that social circle.
But, I know Nigerians. Money can smooth the way for anyone anywhere. So, who knows, maybe her husband's money will ease her transition into "polite" society. That stuff works in romance novels, right?
If you are one of the self-proclaimed "good" women who is searching for a "good" man, I am sorry to say that one has apparently been taken off the market by Ms. AfroCandy. Don't worry I am sure he has friends or something.
I wonder if she will perform at her wedding? That should be interesting. Does anyone know how I can score an invite?

Granted it is a bit harder to get a Nigerian man to make such a lapse in judgement, but it is doable. You just have to be smart about it. AfroCandy is clearly a genius.

Wow! So literally "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE" - On that note, I guess it's safe for me to keep hoping that Bill Gates will drop a million dollars in my account one day
