Facebook-ing or Fbk-n

Ladies and gentlemen, I may antagonize some of you with this post, but #enoughisenough.

I know I am but one person in this fight that I am about to explain to you, but I believe there are people out there who agree with me.

Just a few minutes ago, the following "conversation" happened on Facebook.

Never Say Never

Readers, tell me, what does it benefit a man/woman to hate on the Biebs?

In case you're confused, by the "Biebs" I mean Justin Bieber.

Personally, I love many of his songs. My current favorite is Never Say Never.

I discovered the Biebs in the summer of 2009 when I first saw his video for "One Time". This was before Bieber fever hit seizure inducing levels in 2010. I remember watching the video that summer and thinking to myself, Who is this kid?! (in a good way). In fact, if you can find my tweets from 2009, I probably have a few about Justin Bieber where I asked who he was. When I saw him at the 2009 VMAs later that year I thought to myself, I really hope any son I have can be that "cool" at age 15.  I also wondered just how far he would go. I guess we now know the answer to that.

Temporary Foodie--Thanks To Whole Foods.

I am so proud of myself because I now shop at Whole Foods.

Why am I proud? Because deep down I am actually a very razz person and the fact that I have "upgraded" to shopping at Whole Foods is an achievement for me. It is also a testament to my switch from "broke college student" to "working professional". After all, why else would I spend $20 on "gourmet" organic rotisserie chicken salad when I know for a fact its much cheaper at Stop & Shop.

If you are not familiar with Whole Foods, it is a store known for its ability to make you feel good just for shopping there. Its nickname is also "Whole Paycheck" because it usually has higher food prices than local stores.  Yet, I have never been to the store and not seen it bustling with activity.

Happy Valentine's Day

Just some FYI for all ye blog readers, I updated the post archive page and the new plug-in should be much easier to navigate than the previous one. The archive is arranged by month with a more chronological view of the posts. So, if you're looking for a way to spend some time today, you can always peruse my archives!

Happy Valentines Day!

Speaking of VDay...

Village Tradition

I meant to write about this earlier, but I just didn't seem to have time. Every time I sat down to write it, something else would come up.

So, the other day I was in the car with my mother. She wanted to go to the city to buy some hair and so I tagged along so she wouldn't have to look for parking. She was going to midtown, and if you have been to Manhattan you know parking is a pain in the ass there.

Sha, my mother and I have reached some sort of unspoken agreement to not discuss things that we both know will annoy the other person. Its probably the only reason my strong STRONG desire to leave the house has been tamped down--for a while. There is also the fact that due to some family developments, which I am not allowed to discuss on this blog, our family dynamic is undergoing some changes and we all need to stick together for a bit.

So, on this fine day, my mother was in the car and we were heading home. Somehow we got on the topic of relatives in Nigeria. She shared with me some information that I was not aware of.

A Small Argument Against Virginity

Dear Virgins,

Nobody ever tells you this, so I am doing it for you. Whoever you choose to be your first, it is very likely he wont be your last--yes, even if you are married. You know what the kicker really is, though? You'll get over it.

Sex is important. It can be "magical" if it is with the right person. Waiting for it can build up the "awesomeness" of the experience. But you know what, waiting can also lead to some bad decisions.
