Women Are Powerful...According to Beyonce & Summer's Eve.

I have met many a Beyonce fan who called me a hater after I expressed my dislike for some of Beyonce's songs. First of all, I laugh at anyone who seriously uses the word "hater", so if you read this post and feel the need to defend Beyonce by using this word to describe me, then save it.

My issue with Beyonce's "woman power-ness" began with Irreplaceable. I will not lie and say that I didn't sing the song very loudly and out of tune, when it was released. I did. But in the back of my mind there was always something slightly annoying about the message of the song.

Since then, many of Beyonce's big hits, Single Ladies, Diva, and now Run The World (Girls) have irritated me in increasing amounts because of the messages in the songs. I think part of the problem might stem from the simple fact that these songs were all written by men to "empower" women.

In Bed With Google...Using Google+ (Plus)

Readers, it has come to my attention that I may be a Google whore.

I have evidence to prove this.

Clearly, I use Blogspot for this blog (which is a Google product in case you did not already know)/

Next, I use Gmail for all my mail both for the blog and my personal email address.

My mobile phone is an Android.

I run blog ads with Google Adsense.

Even as I type this up I'm using Google Chrome.

A Tribute to Harry Potter...(1997-2011)

Dear readers, from now on time shall be measured as B.HP and A.HP. Before Harry Potter and After Harry Potter.

It is the end of an era.

As the movie franchise draws to an end with the final movie premiere this week, I thought I'd do this piece on an iconic part of my childhood.

This is my "tribute" to Harry Potter. 7 books, 8 movies, millions of fans, billions of dollars in revenue over a 14 year period, and it all ends this Friday, July 15th at a theater near you.

Marriage amongst Nigerians...Religion Is A Problem.

We can all rest easy because that Nigerian husband didn't actually stab his wife to death. She did it to herself because, according to him, she was possessed.
We have been having issues since the day we got married so much so that I have contemplated divorcing her but because I am a spiritual person and church I pastor, I decided to manage.
This is from the husband, Mr. Kolade Arowolo.

Nigerians, lend my your ears eyes. Divorce is always an option. In fact, I can volunteer one of my parents to help represent you in court if you need help. So many of you should be divorced right now its not even funny.

Mid-Year Check-In

We're halfway through the year already.
Is your glass half full or half empty?
Happy new month! This is a momentous occasion which only happens once every 28-31 days (depending on the preceding month). Honestly though, we should be grateful for every month that comes and goes.

Like joke, like joke, it is the second half of 2011. I think this year is moving so quickly that I'm going to blink and it will be Christmas.

One day I will look back on my twenties and wonder what I spent all this time doing.

With 2011 officially in its second half, its time for a mid-year check in.
